After a successful career as a movie TV presenter in Italy, Monica Maja Richardson moved to London in 2004 and focused on her passion for painting. She spent eight years in her studio experimenting with a variety of tools and colour palettes, taking inspiration from the likes of Richter and Pollock and developing her own unique and freethinking style. In 2012 she decided to exhibit her work for the first time. Within two hours of the opening in her local Kensal Rise, all seventeen of her paintings had sold giving Monica the confidence to further develop her colour palettes and have a second exhibition eighteen months later. That exhibition in Notting Hill Gate, Colours, represented the hard work and long hours she had put into her painting – vibrant, calm, energetic and textured all at the same time – and always with a great sense of her own artistic free spirit. It was a sell out. Twenty-four paintings sold in the opening evening and Monica decided to commit herself to this new career as an artist. In the recent year, Monica’s career has gone from strength to strength , her works can now be found in many art collections all over the world and her career is looking incredibly bright with so many exciting opportunities for exhibitions and collections .
